Lacquer is in decent condition and has a few cosmetic dings and scratches. This is the original design, similar to the Bach bass trumpet, which I believe is no longer in production. The color changes normally associated with a red brass bell are dulled and less present on a yellow bell. This horn really sings and it's in amazing condition with no dents. It has a .509" lightweight nickel slide and an open "M" neck pipe. It has been used on many projects and movies over the years. The model 8 (and subsequent model 9) was Earl's largest tenor model. This 78H is all red brass with gold brass bell, hand bent nickel crook, soldered stainless rim wire. It is one of the more orchestral sounding 36s that have come through the shop and would be a terrific instrument for principal players. The bell is hand engraved and would become the 1Y bell flare. The narrow T47G slide gives you a bit more control over articulation and tonal colors, but still maintains a big broad sound. This is their famous "Drewelwecz" model, the small bore, that most pro sackbuttist who play this brand use. I love the 7 3/4" 1R bell, soldered rim red brass and while I know that is not traditionally a popular bell for jazz, I really don't see why. One of the easiest and warmest sounding trombones I've encountered. This one has been used but is in good shape. The Cleveland made King 3B trombones are some of the most desirable versions of the 3B. Additionally there is a small patch on the top outer tube (shown in the photos) but regardless this trombone still plays well and has that classic Bach sound, the gold brass bell is the star of the show here. Here is a very cool setup, an Edwards T-302 finished in brushed lacquer with two bell flares, one yellow brass and one red brass. One of the most desirable flugelhorns in the world, this is a Van Laar made in The Netherlands. In very nice condition and a superb playing trombone. $2100 with case, The Olds Opera was the professional large bore (.554") trombone offered in nickel silver. A new slim protec case is included. The professional Yamaha Xeno model 8335RGS Bb trumpet features a gold brass bell with reversed leadpipe, silver plated finish. It's a good player and has a smaller bell than later 6Hs from the '50s and '60s. The engraving is still fairly sharp. The model YBB-103 has been regarded as this choice inexpensive good quality tuba for many working musicians around the country. A new MK nickel crook was added and a custom long water key. He fabricated the slide for this bell at A-440 for the owner. Intermediate double French Horn made by Yamaha, knopf/geyer style wrap. While always having a following here in the states, a recent push to medium bore yellow brass horns have made the Alex 103 in great demand. This horn plays incredible! Here she is an original first year of production 1952 King 2B Silversonic only of the best jazzer trombones ever made and one of the first on that legendary line. These 5Bs are often overlooked and underrated they are really nice playing instruments. The earliest models have lightweight red brass bells with nickel silver neckpipes and the signature "fluted" slide tubes, to reduce friction. The instrument is lighter weight than what Miraphone currently makes and the bell taper looks a bit different too. Similar to the other open port valves like the Trubore and Lindberg, this one is set up a bit more traditionally. Since it is a prototype, it doesn't have all the same features as our production horn, but many are the same. This horn plays like a million bucks. This instrument has some nice specs, it has a yellow 9.5" bell, gold brass tuning slide, inline rotax rotary valves, .562" V slide with gold brass outers and yellow crook and the harmonic bracing with adjustable bits along with three leadpipes. Quality horn that plays great. Articulations speak great and the sound is rich and full. These are some of the most sought after alto trombones because they offer an amazing sound, excellent intonation, and familiar bell to slide relationship. This is a beautiful instrument!
